Funny, that’s just what we thought!

We’ve been trying to come up with a way to tell someone about our studio who’s never seen it inside. Believe me, it’s harder than it seems. Instead of a gallery setting, an artist’s loft, or a rushed “snapshot factory” store, we set out to create a comfortable, warm, & inviting environment for our clients. We carefully selected every element in the studio, making sure it fit with our overall aim. The result - everyone, without exception, who visits our studio mentions how much they like the space & positively describes it in their own way.

But it wasn’t until last week that one of our guests hit the nail on the head. We sat down to chat about portraits of her & her daughter. She began remarking about some other studios she had seen recently - how some had a cold feel, some seemed more ‘industrial’, and so on. Then she said, “But here, it’s like a trip to Grandma’s house! The place is really cozy & warm. You don’t feel like you’re there just to have a picture taken & rush right out; it’s so comfortable you just want to slow down & enjoy being here.” Exactly! We’ve been thinking the same thing just under the surface. Our guest put it in to words for us & we couldn’t agree more.

Why go to all this trouble? It would have been much easier & a considerably lower investment in time & funds to just set up a camera room or two plus an office & call that enough. However, we truly believe that when our clients feel comfortable & relaxed, their portraits will become so much more than a map of their appearance. Some of our clients might be able to get to that point eventually without this special place, but for many that may not happen at all. It’s an important part of our photography that our clients’ portraits reflect their personality, their character, and the love & relationships between each other. We have gone to great lengths to make sure that all of our guests & clients feel at home & at ease in our studio to make sure that our portraits show our clients’ true selves.

A big THANK YOU to all who attended our Grand Opening!

What a fantastic time we had Friday night! Many members of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce & Greg Burt (a representative from Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave’s office) not only hosted our ribbon cutting ceremony, but also stayed to tour our new studio & enjoy some refreshments. Existing clients, friends, relatives, and new clients came to see the new studio, enter our drawings, & talk to us as well. Even before we got started, some of our neighboring businesses & community members stopped by to say Hi, drop off a welcoming gift & wish us well.

We are very grateful & overwhelmed by the show of support. Thank you so much!

TODAY!

Roll out the red carpet, strike up the band, & give a little hip hooray!

We’re finishing up the last preparations this morning!

The Longmont Chamber of Commerce will kick off the evening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4PM. Our partner Altitude Dream Cars will have some of their vehicles parked out front, too. In case you didn’t know, our door prizes include a gift certificate towards a rental!

Speaking of door prizes, tonight you can enter to WIN not only cameras, digital photo frames, and an iPod, but also FREE portrait sessions. What a great way to have a new family, engagement, or senior portrait taken!

The studio is located at 612 Kimbark St., Longmont, CO & the Grand Opening lasts from 4-9PM tonight. To get there, first drive to 6th & Main in Longmont. Turn east (toward the Pumphouse) to Kimbark St. Turn left at the stop sign. The studio is the 3rd building on the right - watch for our sign & Grand Opening banner!
