We’ve had a number of inquiries about our photography classes. We’re delighted to see that so many people are interested in the program.
Here are the details:
The pilot class – Beginning Photography – will begin Saturday, February 7th at our studio in Longmont. We will have a brief informational meeting on Saturday, January 24th to address equipment needs, class curriculum, etc. Times for the classes and the informational meeting will be posted here and on our website.
The pilot class will be open to all area high school students. Once the pilot class is completed, we will offer the classes to anyone who is interested. Enrollment for the pilot class will begin before November 30th. See our website for details.
The class will cover:
Understanding light, exposure, composition & style, and much more. There will be 8 hours of hands-on classroom work and 4 hours of field work. Each student will have the opportunity to display his/her work both on our blog as well as in our studio. Students and their parents will be invited to a private reception showcasing the students’ work. Thereafter, the work will become a part of a regular exhibit open to the public.
Classes are limited to only 10 students, so they will likely fill up fast. The cost for the class, all materials, professional critique of the students’ work and gallery prints for display is $249 per student. Partial and full scholarships are available to high school students based on need as well as an interest in the arts. Please contact us for details on the scholarship program.
$100 will be collected at the time of enrollment to reserve your space in the class. The balance will be due at the time of the informational meeting. Please do NOT go out and buy a camera right now if you don’t already have one. We will be providing students and parents with detailed information on cameras that are best suited for the class as well as the continued study of photography.
If you are interested in the class and would like more information, please contact our studio.
Additional courses on Advanced Photography, Image Editing and others will also be offered. Free mini seminars on various photography topics will also be offered to the general public soon. Watch our blog and website for details.
